How do I clean the ash pan on my wood burning stove?

WARNING: all cleaning and maintenance should be done with a cold stove.

Most Aduro stoves come with a detachable ash pan for easier cleaning. It is important to remove and clean the ash pan from time to time between the usage of the stove:

• If ashes accumulate in the ash pan they can obstruct the air intake of the stove and decrease it’s efficiency and performance.
• Make sure that no ashes settle on the side of the ash pan as they could accumulate and obstruct the air intake or block the damper of stove.
• Also, remember to clean the room where the ash pan is located.

Always leave a layer of ash on the bottom of the stove, as this insulates the combustion chamber and makes lighting a fire easier.
