Why does condensation occur in the chimney?

Condensation can form as cold air enters the chimney. When this happens, moisture and water forms and can damage the stove’s paint or the pipe. It is also possible that rain water comes down the chimney.

Condensation can be avoided by reviewing the installation and use:

• Special chimney cowls
• Insulated pipes, seal the joints
• Make sure there is a constant, natural draft
