What is vermiculite (insulation stones)?

Vermiculite is a natural product and is used as insulation in the combustion chamber. The tiles exhibit good insulation properties, are heat resistant and protect the stove from overheating. Vermiculite is a porous material and should be handled with care.

The durability of the tiles depends on how often and how intensively the stove is used. The material is porous, so to prevent the stones from cracking, it is important to place the firewood carefully into the combustion chamber.

To maintain the insulating power, it is also important to replace the vermiculite baffle plate at the top of the combustion chamber when it has worn down to ½ thickness. Small cracks have no effect on the insulation power.
