How do I clean my Aduro hybrid stove?

Daily cleaning

  • Clean the glass so the stove looks presentable
  • Remove the ash under the burning cave (For every 13 kg of pellets burned, which is equal to approximately 8 hours in operation on heat level 3):
    - Move the burning cave to the side (use plier). Use gloves if necessary for extra protection.
    - Scrape the ash under the burning cave away into the grate.
    - Put the burning cave back in its place.

The cleaning takes less than 3 minutes to complete. However, if the lid is open for more than 3 minutes, the stove will automatically turn off out of safety reasons. We do not recommend that you turn off the stove when conducting this fast cleaning, otherwise the igniter will be quickly worn down. It may be necessary to do this cleaning every 7 to 8 hours of operation if the stove is running at heat level 3.

Watch this for guidance (from 08:05):

In addition to this, you should check the air holes in and around the brazier everyday. There is a total of 10 air holes. These must always be kept free of ashes / cinders as this may otherwise result in poor combustion.

Weekly cleaning

  • Vacuum clean inside of the stove and inside the small auger under the brazier (this cleaning should be conducted when the stove is cold and approx. once every 3-4 day)
  • Remove ashpan and clean the room of the ashpan.
  • Dry dust of the stove so it keeps its new look.

Additional cleaning if needed

This cleaning is necessary if you find that the combustion is getting worse. This may be due to dust and ashes reducing the air flow in the stove.

  • Remove ashes and cinders from the brazier and combustion chamber.
  • Empty the ashpan.
  • Vacuum clean the inside of the combustion chamber and in the burning cave to clean the upper part of the auger (see image 1).
  • Pellet stoves form dust in the stove and air pathways. The amount depends on the pellet type. Much of this dust is burned when the stove is used in wood mode, because the temperature is higher. Depending on the use, it will be necessary to clean the stove at the top of the combustion chamber. Carefully remove the insulation stone in vermiculite on the left (see image 2), the baffle plate in vermiculite, and the baffle plate in steel. Vacuum clean the upper part of the stove. Remove the bottom insulation stone in vermiculite, remove the plate in the back (see image 3) and vacuum clean the combustion air chamber (see image 4). Replace the stones in reverse order. Make sure that all air holes are open.

  • Check fan and if necessary, brush/clean the propeller.
  • Clean the burning cave and the grate for cinders, e.g. with a scraper.
  • Clean the air pathway for electrical igniter from the auger. If necessary, remove the electrical igniter and check for ashes in the white cylinder. If yes, this should be cleaned.

Yearly cleaning

  • The hybrid stove must be inspected within the first year by an Aduro certified professional for cleaning and adjustment. Hereafter, maintenance must be conducted every other year or for every 2,000 kg pellets burned from the date of the latest service visit. You are responsible for covering the cost of this yourself. Please contact your local Aduro GO partner
  • Spray Aduro Spray on the outside of the stove to maintain the fresh look i.e. those places that have small scratches. Read more here.
